The Holly House Charitable Foundation was set up in 2022. We are a charitable trust supporting small, local charities working directly with children and young people facing disadvantage, disability or additional challenges.
While this is our primary focus, we also recognise that need does not always fit neatly into one category. From time to time, we may support work outside this focus where there is a clear and compelling case.

We are particularly interested in charities that understand their communities well and are responding to real day-to-day need, often with limited resources.
Our role is to support that work thoughtfully and responsibly, focusing on practical help that can make the greatest difference.

The Holly House Charitable Foundation is governed by its trustees, who are responsible for setting the Foundation's direction and making decisions about the use of its funds.

How we work
We are a trustee-led foundation, with trustees responsible for setting the Foundation’s direction and making final decisions about the use of funds.
Initial enquiries and day-to-day activity are managed by the Foundation Lead, working closely with our trustees.
We also draw on specialist advisers where needed.
A practical approach
We take a simple and proportionate approach to grant making. We do not run an open application process. Instead, charities are encouraged to get in touch so we can understand their work and whether it aligns with our focus.
If it looks like there could be a clear alignment, we may ask for further information to consider the request properly.
